It will start ok (4-5 pulls), but when I drove it, it will go for about 100 feet then practically stop. If I let of gas pedal to about halfway, then it will start going fast again. It's like it's disengaging the belt or something.

The sprocket and plate should come off leaving you with just the wheel. Bottom line is to one way or another remove the 6 small. bolts and the nut or nuts from one side of the wheel and remove the piece if threaded rod. That will also let you know if you already have the Manco spacer.
